HONG KONG |  Zoë Jordan’s SS16 “Archipelago”collection constitutes and attempt to modernize the traditional by bringing the metropolis to the high seas. Utilitarian shorts, jumpsuits and skirts are teamed with the Caspian parka, oversized silk sailor tops, raw edge sleeveless jackets, and delicate knitwear with rope sleeve detailing. All without forgetting Zoe Jordan’s love for clean lines, durability, fresh palettes and boyish elegance. As with all Zoë Jordan collections, tactility and texture is paramount. This season, these key features are presented in bespoke jacquard, with contrasting satin and matte textures woven in shapes designed to reflect ripples on water. The colour palette represents the deep-sea hues, rock pools and dusty white cliffs while vivid citron and Prussian blue punctuate the collection. Other key materials include sporty double backed mesh influenced by fishermen’s netting, silk crepe, structured ink splashed neoprene, cracked leather skins reminiscent of eroding rocks. Knitwear is one of  Zoë Jordan signature designs and for SS16 the Goodall knit is introduced with details inspired by sailing knots that run along sleeves. Photos courtesy of Electric Sekki.
