BEIJING | Simon Gao explores further the concept of hermaphrodite but it adopts a whole new approach. The lines of his Spring Summer 2014 collection are remarkably more feminine than in the previous season. Simon Gao perfectly blends Eastern and Western elements, which he subtly adorns with daring embroidery works. This coupled with the designer’s interesting integration of futuristic and traditional referents result in very elegant garments with a powerful sense of vanguard.   The designs transmit strong feeling of belonging to the fantastic universe that Simon Gao creates for this collection. Simon Gao also launched a special collection of gold accessories inspired by elves and fantasy legends in collaboration with Hong Kong’s renowned jewellery brand, Chow Tai Fook. Simon Gao (1981) was educated in Singapore, Switzerland and New Zealand. He founded his fashion brand in 2009. His designs are committed to the art of tailoring, which is actually giving Gao's spectacular and futuristic outfits a growing reputation within China's Haute Couture fashion scene.
