STREET STYLE KYOTO: THE ART OF WEARING A KIMONO

KYOTO | We feel refreshed after the Summer break and thought a very good way to start the new term would be to use a rather unconventional street style inspiration. Do not expect any jeans, skirts, blouses or any typical ready to wear outfits or bold ideas. This post reaches out to the roots of traditional Japanese outfits, and one of the world's most beautiful pieces of garment: the Kimono. Nowadays in Japan it is still quite common to see woman elegantly styling kimonos with beautiful hair accessories and the most delicate purses. This is specially true in Kyoto, mostly on Sundays, when the powerful colours and patterns typical of kimonos lighten up the streets and the temples of this ancient town. PHOTOS BY EARTH TO IRIS.
