BARCELONA |“Never follow trends, but create trends”; that’s Victoria Barrueco’s motto. Born and raised in Argentina, she is now based in Barcelona where she develops her featured design style of creating versatile, eclectic, comfortable, unique and very feminine garments. Victoria ‘s creations are a perfect fit for the wardrobes of young women who enjoy making the most of their personal and effortless style. Victoria attended Fashion Design Studies at the University of Buenos Aires. And she moved to Barcelona where she completed her academic background. A short while after she launched her first Autumn/Winter collection and opened a Boutique Atelier in the vibrant Born area.   She designs, produces and creates garments entirely made in Barcelona. (S/S14 Happiness Collection). The design process is influenced by the quality, design and texture of the fabrics that she carefully selects. Victoria comes up with fresh items that put a strain in colors and prints. For instance by reinterpreting the characteristic jacquard hip palazzo pants inspired in the 70’s; or a short alpaca dress with white collar (actually an A/W bestseller). Her sensitive use of colors brings ravishing surprises: The vivacious colored lining and the wide sleeves turns the classic tailoring of a trench into a very cool piece. Also a successful item from her latest winter collection. The 2015 Spring/Summer collection Insomnio (Insomnia) is an enjoyable one, which mixes sophistication and romanticism.
