HONG KONG | Strong, independent, optimistic, curious and carefree adventurer. She is a collector of treasured experiences throughout her never-ending journey of self-discovery. Her sense of freedom dictates her actions, her life. That’s the fearless woman envisaged by Australia’s internationally acclaimed label Sass & Bide’s SS16 collection ‘The Dreamweaver’.
The duo formed by Sarah-Jane Clarke (Sass) and Heidi Middleton (Bide) accentuate this sense of careless wandering with their signature relaxed silhouettes and daring embellishments. Neutral palettes are mixed and matched with black and white and orange and yellowy hues. To make this ideal women stronger and ready to hit the roads less traveled lux leather, studs and buckles are combined with fringed trims.
Sarah-Jane and Heidi launched Sass & Bide in the late 90s, in Australia, to honor their very own free-spirited aesthetic. In just two years it went from an underground label in Australia to a usual in the runways of New York and London.
In addition to receiving many awards for their outstanding contribution to Australia’s fashion scene. In 2012 Sass & Bide was selected by the United Nations agency, the International Trade Centre (ITC), to join The Ethical Fashion Initiative. The program helps to provide fairly paid work and give marginalized women the power to change their own lives in African communities. Renowned designers such Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood and Ilaria Venturini Fendi are also members of this initative.
