SHANGHAI | Modern and timeless are the greatest attributes of Christian Dior’s sublime designs. Its iconic perfume Miss Dior, launched sixty-seven years ago, is probably the best example of how the House of Dior’s creations have survived any trend. Until the 20th of August Shanghai’s Art District, the Sculpture Space, is hosting the Miss Dior exhibition that glorifies the eternal fragrance.
The Miss Dior exhibition commemorates the so-called universal perfume with a retrospective of Christian Dior’s life and the rise of his uncontested label. His multidisciplinary friends and various artistic and cultural currents influenced Christian Dior’s creations and contributed to cultivate his exceptional talents.
Sixteen contemporary women artists complement the exhibition with daring installations and artistic creations that reinterpret the allure of Dior’s first perfume. Among them, four renowned Asian artists play with their cultural heritage as they get inspired by legendary elements of Dior’s designs like the fan or the roses.
